Abstract:
This two-day training event is designed for program leaders and service-team leaders who are involved in the process of implementing a high-fidelity IDDT (Severe Mental Health/Substance Abuse Disorders) team. It offers practical ideas, resources, tools, and methods for succeeding with implementation. This event will emphasize interaction and collaboration among participants. Program managers and team leaders will engage in problem-solving and action-planning scenarios in small groups with colleagues from their own organizations when possible. (Participants who are the only representative of their organizations will team-up with others.) This interactive small-group process will help participants actually facilitate the process of IDDT implementation into mental health and substance abuse treatment settings.  Additionally, exercises that facilitate supervision of the model will be incorporated as a primary teaching method.

Learning Objectives
Participants will be able to:

1.) List which stage-wise strategies are necessary when implementing IDDT in an outpatient mental health/substance abuse treatment setting.

2.) Apply “lessons learned” from the implementation of successful IDDT programs into their approaches for future IDDT supervision, consulting and training.

3.) Discuss the IDDT and GOI Fidelity scales and their applications with successful IDDT teams.

4.) Appraise resource materials that can be incorporated into their roles as Program Leaders and Service-team Leaders to facilitate improved fidelity to the IDDT model.

5.) Analyze their agency's current service-delivery design and develop (or propose) quality improvements that can be taken back to their IDDT teams.
